Was completely engaged by the radio call from Harry & Paul yesterday. Realize that they’ve been at this a while, but I usually attend the game or watch on TV.
For sure, Harry is a flawed play-by-play announcer. He doesn’t always immediately identify the ball carrier or the intended receiver. At one point, he caught himself misidentifying the flagship station’s dial position.
At the same time, the energy was there. You could feel the ebb and flow of the game. Palmer doesn’t offer too much analysis, but he knows when to talk and when not to.
A perfect broadcast? No. But did it keep me entertained for 210 minutes? Yessir!
