Grad transfer kicker

Per The Philadelphia Inquirer, University of Indianapolis kicker Jacob LaFree has commited to Temple as a grad transfer that will be immediately eligible.

In LaFree's first three seasons at Indy, he was a kickoff specialist. Last season, LaFree took over regular placekicking duties and made three field goals and 12 extra points before getting injured in Week 4 and sitting out the rest of the season. LaFree also had 14 punts for 542 yards (38.7 average) last season.

For his career, LaFree had 236 kickoffs at Indy, averaged 61.7 yards per kick off and had 98 of them go for touchbacks. In 2017, his last full year, LaFree had 57.3 percent of his kickoffs go for touchbacks. By comparison, Will Mobley averaged 52.6 yards per kick off last season and had just 13.2 percent of his kicks go for touchback.
