I spent a couple of hours over at Temple tonight for the Owls' team camp, and the player I got the best look at was Roman Catholic's Hakim Hart. The 6-foot-6 wing finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a game against Plymouth Whitemarsh and their star center, Naheem McLeod.

Hart has a bit of a lower release on his shot, but he had the ball in his hands a lot and looked to be a good passer with a good feel for the game. On one play, he hit a step-back jumper over the 7-foot McLeod, and he got past him on another occasion on a move near the baseline to score on a layup. La Salle would be Temple's biggest competition for him locally, and it's possible that his recruitment will pick up in July. From what I gathered tonight, it's also possible that he could grow to about 6-8 by the time he gets to college.

McLeod had some moments where he still looked a little green and others where he looked very smooth. He sometimes caught the ball with one hand in the post and was able to pass back out when double teamed. Temple is still recruiting him.

We'll be back there again tomorrow. I'm hoping to see Imhotep's Donta Scott, who is slated to play for the TU All Stars team.
