Initially, I wanted to look at Temple vs their Big 5 opponents. Some interesting trends became apparent and might explain our heightened anxiety/irritation/anger at the state of our school's program. The records do not include postseason results.

Dunphy's all-time TU record from 2006-present is 237-139 .630. In his first 6 seasons the mark is 134-65 .673. The past six, including yesterday's win over Drexel is 103-74. .582.

The Big5 record, which is unofficial as it includes both of our games vs St.Joe's and LaSalle from 2006/07-2011/2012 but not any A-10 tournament games is 38-21 .644. In his first six year's Dunphy's Owls were a dominant 25-11 .694. In the years since, they are a mediocre 13-10 for .565.

Here they are by school( overall is first, second record is first six seasons, the second is the last six).

Penn 10-1 5-1 5-0
LaSalle 14-4 10-2 4-2
SJU. 11-7 8-4 3-3
Nova. 3-9 2-4 1-5

What this shows is that our overall winning percentage is improving compared with our Big5 results. We are beefing up on more cupcakes, both in and out of conference, and that we are no longer a dominant team within the Big 5.
