I was listening to the Patenaude interview from last night, and he referenced the fact he played six different QBs at Coastal Carolina last year, when asked about Nutile playing at all this year. He said he had confidence to play Marchi, Centeio, or Nutile...not breaking news. This is basically the same info that came out of camp.

That said, by now, I would think you would settle on one QB if you really felt that QB was the future and was going to lead you to wins (he told JDC he had a good handle on the personnel).

While listening I remembered the time Cole Hammels intentionally threw a ball at Bryce Harper and said "Welcome to the Bigs!"... This isn't Coastal Carolina Coach, and our competition is much better. You won't have much success playing 2-3 QBs in a given season. There's a reason this isn't done, at least at this level, barring strange circumstances like injury.

Matt Rhule and company realized PJ had the most upside and played him. We didn't win many games that year as defensively we were a mess. However; PJ shined, and got a lot of valuable playing time that paid dividends in the future.

If Centeio is the "gamer" Pattenaude says he is, then play the kid. If he really changes the dynamic of the game, and energizes the team, play him!

I often try to incorporate strategy into my decision making...multi-year. So if playing Todd sets us up well for next year and after because of the experience he will gain it makes sense to play him (even if it might mean some more Ls this year). If we are really trying to add more of a spread dimension to our program, then it would seem the coaching staff should commit to him.

A mobile QB can stay in the pocket (example PJ was not run much last year by my recollections), but you cannot teach speed.
