JDC: I'm a huge Sean Chandler fan. To me, he's a playmaker. Do you think Chandler moving to safety means that the coaching staff is really high on Derrek Thomas, Nate Hairston, Artrel Foster and Kareem Ali? Or maybe does it mean incoming freshmen like Linwood Crump, Amir Tyler or any of the other incoming guys might play early? There are a lot of DBs in this class with Kimere Brown, Keyvone Bruton, Benny Walls, Sam Franklin, Kareem Gaulden and Isaiah Graham-Mobley. I realize some will be safeties, some will end up at linebacker after a RS year and some will move to offense, but there is so much depth at DB. Could it be the coaches just think Chandler playing center field is what the team needs, or will he be back at CB come September?
This position switch really intrigues me. He can be a threat returning interceptions. He's smart, so he can direct the defense and be a ball hawk. And if Thomas can pull this off and be a CB, he'd be able to match up with the really tall WRs. And it would give Ali and these other kids a chance to play, too.
Just curious what you think about the whole thing.
