Sooooo. Regarding the 3 QBs that played, something just doesn’t make sense here...
The coaches obviously feel that Frank is the QB that gives us the best chance to win. Whether that is based off accuracy, knowledge, poise, etc, I’m not sure but that’s what they believe.
In terms of playing Toddy, they believe he is the most mobile/can execute the option, and is the best run-pass option QB. So it makes sense that he gets a few packages to switch it up against the defense.
NOW, when making Russo a “4-play package,” please explain to me how they think this benefits the team. I just can’t comprehend it. They clearly don’t think he’s the best run-pass-option QB, because that’s Toddy. They clearly don’t feel he gives us the best chance to win the games, because Frank is the starter. So how are they justifying this package?! “We did it to mess with Buffalo” Patenaude said. Uhhh what??? I’m confused what element of surprise Russo is adding to the game. Is it because they think he’s more accurate than Frank? If he’s the most accurate, then why isn’t he starting. What can he possibly provide in 4 plays? This is the definition of ineptitude from a coaching staff.
If he isn’t the RPO QB, then he doesn’t need a package. You either play him 100% or you don’t. Packages are for the QBs that can run. All they did was F@Ck with the flow of the game by switching up Russo and Frank on third down. Russo said Patenaude is making the call about who is in the game, so this is clearly on Patenaudes shoulders.
Imagine if Frank had a 4play package when PJ was the QB. It makes zero sense whatsoever. Someone please explain what Russo possess that hes better than Frank at in 4 plays, but not in any other aspect of the game.
