It's been said many times on this thread that to be consistently bowl eligible is our goal and that we will be patient while the program builds. Now let's look at the real world. Bo Pelini, who has won at least nine games in every season at Nebraska, was fired for not winning enough!
Maybe that's our problem. We expect too little of our HCs and are content to sit back and wait for things to happen. We put no pressure on them to produce. Although Golden was here 5 or 6 years and never beat a winning MAC team, we declared him a savior and would have kept him indefinitely. We put up with Bobby Wallace for 8 years. I wonder how long we would have given Addazio?
If Pelini can get fired for "only" winning nine games a season, shouldn't we demand more from our coaching staff? Maybe we should just go out and hire him. I'll take 9 wins a season and his stature to upgrade recruiting.
As Dennis Miller would say," It's just my opinion, I could be wrong".
