I went over to check out The Chosen League tonight to get another look at Dahmir Bishop and Donta Scott.
Bishop seemed to be mostly fooling around and setting up his teammates, while it was more of the same from Scott, who runs the floor as well as anybody I have seen on the AAU circuit over the summer.
After a 17-point victory, which was called 90 seconds early, I spoke with Scott and Bishop.
I'll have a story up later, but Scott told me that he talked with Penn State's Pat Chambers earlier today and will take an official visit to Happy Valley, although he's still working on setting up a date. He also mentioned Oregon, Temple, Nevada, South Carolina and Florida. When I asked if he'll use one of his five official visits to Temple, he replied, "probably not." That's not necessarily a bad sign for the Owls, as Scott said he would like to take official visits to schools further in distance. And while Scott has been rumored to be a homebody, he said he's only seeking the "best fit."
As for Bishop, he said he has an official visit to Rhode Island locked in for the weekend of Sept. 15. He released a list of top eight schools, which included Temple, in the middle of his Chosen League game. "I pressed send from the bench," he said with a laugh.
