I am extremely happy with this current team making the NCAA tournament. Say what you will about their limitations etc, but this team never gave up and played hard in every game. This year's selection show was a complete 180 from last year. I expected a bid last year and came in with low expectation this year. Having the 10 seed shown early in the show was a lot more enjoyable.
I will be up in Brooklyn to watch on Friday but I started thinking about the next couple of seasons. Next year will be a struggle. We will be playing a lot of players that will be seeing their first significant time in the college game. However, that will prove very valuable for the future. Hopefully the roster doesn't have any departures in the future. If they don't, I expect very big things starting in 2017-18 season.
17-18 roster will hopefully include-
PG Alani Moore (Soph)
Combo guards- Alston (Jr.), Rose (Soph.)
Wings- Carvalho (R.Soph), Lowe (Jr.)
PF- Obi (Sr.)
C- Aflakpui (jr.), Moore (Soph. maybe R.Fr)
Temple will of course add a couple players to the roster and hopefully a couple impact transfers (Juco PF?) or impact freshman. Just looking at that core, they will see a lot of playing time next year in 16-17. That will make for a very experienced roster for the 17-18 season. They will also be very athletic, maybe one of the most athletic rosters Temple has had in a long time. Would love to see the team run with those guys.
