Hey all, I was at the game and my phone was dead. Sorry if this was discussed in another thread. We were baffled by the 4th and Goal play by UH where they threw a flag for defensive holding on Temple.
1) We couldn't even see a flag on the ground
2) Literally Houston's offense and Temple's defense left the field after the play.
3) We stopped them on the play, was a turnover on downs.
4) The refs said "because the pass didnt cross the line of scrimmage, replay the down."
5) I've seen over 1000 football games I have never seen this.
Anyone watching on TV what the hell was the real explanation? I thought a play is a play unless its a penalty OR two opposing flags offset each other.
