The line is encouraging. Huge opportunity for Mckie in year 3. The Trojans are #17 in Kenpom. A win tonight could go a long way in March if this team can get to 21 wins.
We're taking mailbag questions for this week's episode of our OwlScoop.com podcast up until 4 p.m. today. You can send us your questions and grievances, and we're willing to talk food (enjoyed the soup question) and off-topic stuff as well.
I wouldn't ordinarily post about a player who left us, but ESPN SportsCenter just led off with his buzzer beater to knock off Arizona State in their house.
Hoops season starts tonight at the Liacouras Center, so send us your mailbag questions and we'll get to as many as we can on the podcast. As I mentioned on the football board, if you have something off-topic, we're glad to talk about that as well.
Here's @Dante Collinelli's story from Friday's Temple basketball media day. You can listen to the full interviews with Aaron McKie, Khalif Battle and Jake Forrester, and Sage Tolbert, who is expected to start.
Hear what coach Aaron McKie, Jake Forrester, Sage Tolbert and Khalif Battle had to say at Friday's media day.

We'll have more coverage in the coming days with stories on Forrester and freshman forward Zach Hicks, who looked good shooting the ball in the portion of practice we saw, so stay tuned.
I went back through every schedule for Temple football from 1971 - 2021 looking for the worst 4 game stretches in school history. That's 50 years of data. Here they are...
1) 207 points - 1993 season weeks 2 through 5 (Ron Dickerson year 1)
2) 197 points - 1993 season weeks 3 through 6 (Ron Dickerson year 1)
3) 187 points - 2006 season weeks 2 through 5 (Al Golden year 1)
4) 169 points - 1993 season weeks 4 through 7 (Ron Dickerson year 1)
5) 160 points - 1989 season weeks 2 through 5 (Jerry Berndt year 1)
6) 156 points - 2005 season weeks 2 through 5 (Bobby Wallace last year)
7) 155 points - Done twice... 1993 season weeks 6 through 9 (Ron Dickerson year 1) and 2005 season weeks 5 through 8 (Bobby Wallace last year)
8) 153 points - 2021 season weeks 6 through 9 (Rod Carey)
A lot of thoughts here...
1) Yes the last 4 games have been historically bad.
2) No Temple coach has had a stretch this bad that wasn't in their first or last year as a head coach. And it ain't Rod's first year.
3) 1993 must have been absolutely miserable.
4) We're not done yet... UH could easily beat us by more than 49 points which could move Carey into 5th place for worst ever stretch.
5) Two of the eight worst stretches in the last 50 years were the only two times I can remember a coach trying to rebuild a roster through transfers.
It is very obvious Carey is gone by the end of the year but if you let him coach the last three games, then the hole for the new coach will be deeper. You need to acknowledge to the players and fans that this isn’t acceptable and won’t be tolerated by the Temple leadership.
They won one game last year barely beating USF and then come back this year and beat one team worth talking ( Memphis ) about. Name me anything this team or it’s coaching staff do well ? This is not the kids fault for two reasons . They have really bad coaching but they are not responsible for the overall personnel. Frankly they are just outgunned .
Carey needs to be fired NOW . We ALL deserve this acknowledgment !!!!
Well looks like we got a new video board. The old one wasn’t that “old”. I know this because I recall when we didn’t even have a video board. I remember when we got the video board and video ring around the arena. That was cool. So I’ll be interested to see this new set up.
now, can we upgrade our winning?? This program has all the bells and whistles it needs to be highly successful.
