Tyler Matakevich content

In addition to The Scoop with my OwlScoop colleagues, I also host a podcast with Adam DiMichele called the Bleav In Temple Football podcast on the Bleav Podcast network.

We talked to Tyler Matakevich last night, and you can listen to it here if you're interested. He gave us a lot of good stuff on his memories of Temple, the 2015 season and beating Penn State, and playing now with guys like Dion Dawkins and Josh Allen.

Off Topic - Memorabilia

A bit off topic - but does anyone have any idea where I can get some vintage Owls memorabilia?

In the process of redoing the home bar area and looking to add some old school Temple items. Most of the stuff I found available online seemed a bit cheesy. Looking for photos, footballs, basketballs, helmets, etc. from the years past.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.

Point guard

Since Williams injury, Miller has stepped up and shown himself to be a very solid point guard. He rarely has TO's, controls the tempo, looks for assists and can score with a good looking outside shot. I hope Aaron keeps him starting at the point after Williams returns. I'd like to see both of them starting with Williams free to score and Miller looking to run the offense, feed and set up the others. I think Miller is the "purist' PG we've had in years. Any thoughts on this if you were coaching?

A conversation with Stan Drayton, Part III

In the third and final part of our extensive interview with Stan Drayton, the Owls' new head football coach talked about his chief of staff Everett Withers, offensive line coach Chris Wiesehan, how he coaches running backs and how he plans on embracing and welcoming back Temple's former players.

You can listen to the interview here in case you missed it out on the front page:

A conversation with Stan Drayton, Part II

Part II of our lengthy interview with Stan Drayton is out on the front page of the site in case you missed it. You can read the full transcript and listen to it here.

We talked to him about how he built his staff and found what he considers to be the right fits there, his philosophy on hitting and tackling in practice, and whether or not they will be keeping the single digit tradition.

Coaching Search

I know this is super early, but I have heard some rumblings.

Elijah Robinson has been making calls to coaches to form a potential staff should he interview. His OC target is Ja'Juan Seider, Penn State's RB coach and run game coordinator.

Fran Brown is also doing the same. I know his proposed staff the last time around was very underwhelming.

Chris Wiesehan has been calling anyone he can to get involved.
