The Scoop: Mailbag questions for J.P. Moorman

J.P. Moorman, one of Temple's three captains, will be our guest on The Scoop this week.

If you have a mailbag question for him, post it here and I'll try to ask about two or three as I usually do. We're recording the interview at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow.

And if you have a question about the team in general or anything else, you can post that here, too. We'll record the rest of the podcast around 5 p.m.

Thanks as always for listening!

SMU FACTS

SMU has a total of 16 returning starters,13 are seniors.

Astonishing, they have 35 transfer athletes on their squad more than
a third of their roster.

Shane Buechele, the quarterback was highly prized in Texas, started
19 games at the University of Texas before transferring.

Gerald Ford Stadium will be jammed 32K plus and very loud.!!!

Notwithstanding those facts, a complete effort by the Owls will
emerge in a victory. 28-21

GO OWLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

MSU/Timber Creek WR Cam Chambers transferring

Chambers was a 4* recruit out of TC. Committed to MSU over Alabama, UF, Temple, and a bunch of other programs. He had a pretty mediocre career at MSU. He hasn't played this year. He was on his way to a decent year last year with 19 receptions for 264 yards in only 7 games (played in 11). Interesting to note is that he's a very good student, and is currently enrolled in MSU's law school.

Wright will be gone. Barbon is the only new-ish WR to do anything other than Blue, but I'm not so sure he becomes more than a #4 WR. Chambers has really good size at 6'2 220, and might be a really good 3rd WR behind Mack and Blue.

Also, I feel like I didn't realize his dad played under Arians at TU. He probably should've transferred to Temple after his sophomore season.

New Jersey speedster commits

Trebor Pena, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound wide receiver from Ocean Township, committed to Temple today over offers from schools like Navy, Air Force, Kent State and Villanova. Pena reports a 4.4 40-yard dash, which solicited this response from offensive coordinator Mike Uremovich today.

the Good , the bad and the ugly ....Temple / Memphis

Good - beating another ranked opponent and never giving up and playing tough through the final whistle. Lots of momentum shifters in that game and kids persevered and found a way to win. That’s what winners do .

Bad - have to really improve on their red zone offense because gave up way too many points and allowed a very good opponent to stay in the game . They also didn’t tackle well especially at the linebacker and defensive backfield positions

Ugly - Even though he managed the game well and played a very good game .... Russo just can’t miss that sure touchdown on that long throw in 4th quarter . It wasn’t even close and coaches need to work on his technique . He seems to throw the ball on a rope but needs to get a tad more air under the ball. Can’t miss a receiver that open for points .

Bowl Predictions

Believe it or not, Yahoo Sports has their first bowl predictions already. It has us playing Eastern Michigan in the Boca Raton Bowl. (whoopie) Our excuse for losing the last appearance in that game against Toledo was that we had nothing to play for and the Rockets were determined to knock off an AAC team.
BTW, Yahoo predicts that Boise St. will be the G-6 rep in the NYD bowl games and UCF will appear in the Hawaii Bowl.
